Democracy III begins with a new collection of translations of five key chapters of Ludmilla Alexeyeva´s Soviet Dissent.  Alexeyeva, herself a human rights activist, documents with great precision the movement for human rights, economic and social justice and national independence that emerged during the dark years of Leonid Brezhnev.
